I am very happy to know that NSTMIS, DST along with Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh has come out with a useful information base of Indians Academician working in various countries. I understand that it is a huge collection of approximately 23439 Academicians and Research scholar database. The project has developed a crawler titled ÔÇ£KhojÔÇØ which has already been copyrighted along with number of publications in reputed journals and conferences.I congratulate the team of Punjab Engineeri ng College, Chandigarh for this unique and first ever database developed which will catalyze the STI ecosystem. I also compliment the DST, CHORD(NSTMIS) team for their knowledge inputs and support towards this important initiative for Indian Science.

NSTMIS, DST has catalyzed and supported the development of a database on ÔÇ£Indian Origin Academician in Foreign UniversitiesÔÇØ by Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh. I am pleased to state that a novel technology crawler titled ÔÇ£KhojÔÇØ has been developed by the project implementation team. I am sure this technology would be useful for making other automated databases. The database developed is of immense relevance in the present-day scenario where international collaborations with knowledge experts is the key factor for S&T led growth and competitiveness. The project team has explored around 2700 academic university websites to gather this information from the selected countries. The database would be immensely useful for research scholars, policy planners and other stakeholders in S&T sector and is available at http://ioa-dst.pec.ac.in. I appreciate and congratulate the project implementation team from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh and wish them all the success in future endeavors.

I am happy and proud to know that Prof. Rajesh Bhatia and his team have developed an MIS of Indian Origin Academicians working in Foreign Universities. I congratulate the project team for the successful completion of this project. It is a very large database of more than 23,000 academicians. The output of this project may help the government agencies, educational institutions, and students for research collaboration, including joint research projects and PhD guidance. The MIS is very user friendly and therefore, can be used by people from all disciplines.
